Classes The Nose Knows : Mental Enrichment -- Winter is coming!

The Nose Knows : Mental Enrichment -- Winter is coming!

$30.00

Introduction to box searches and mental enrichment for your dog.

In this VIRTUAL 2 week class we will talk about how amazing your dog’s nose is and the different ways you can give them mental enrichment without going for a 2 mile hike in the woods.  This is a great way to entertain your dog if you are working from home, need to help kids with school or keep your dog busy while you are reading a book or are away from home.

The first week, I will show you how to set up a box search for your dog, how to introduce them to the concept of hunting for and finding the scent, and why their nose is so amazing, and what types of searches trained dogs actually perform.

You will need for this class 4 boxes, you can get cardboard file boxes at staples, they are pretty shallow and you can close the lid, which we will do as the hour progresses. Or if you have shoe boxes they will work too.  Lots of yummy treats, or their dinner and a bowl to put the treats into.

The second class will cover other types of enrichment, like snuffle mats, the Kong Wobbler, food puzzle toys and ones that you can make at home from every day items.

This class will take place November 6th and 13th at 6pm
